What is Issue 5? 

• Issue 5 is an 11-mill operating levy on the May 5, 2026, ballot.

• If passed, it would generate approximately $10.7 million per year to fund district operating costs.

• It would stabilize district finances and allow student supports and programming to return in 2027–2028.

• Lorain City Schools has not passed a new-money levy since 1992 — more than 30 years ago.
